• a Spirit-led, relationship where believers support each other in
living truthfully, healing completely, and walking faithfully

During this week’s Bible Study, Pastors Mark and Mike discussed the topic of accountability within a spiritual context, emphasizing its importance for personal growth and success in all areas of life. They charged us to remember that God places people in our lives to help us identify truth and stay on the right path. This is not just for spiritual journeys but for overall success in life.
Accountability involves accepting responsibility, being accountable to someone for an activity, and having a trusted mutual relationship where believers help one another align with God's truth.
Accountability is NOT "surveillance", demanding "perfection", or being "judgmental" or "controlling”. It's not about fixing, shaming, or punishing, nor is it about pointing out problems without solutions.
Accountability focuses on "truthtelling", "shared responsibility", and "consistency". Holding others accountable also encompasses the idea of "carrying one another's burdens”, as disclosing struggles can lighten emotional loads and lead to healing.
The Blueprint for being a good accountability partner is found in Galatians 6:1. Key aspects include:
• Being "in the spirit" and "doing things right" yourself.
• Being willing to "speak up" when others are in error.
• Having a "mind of restoration", not blame or judgment.
• Being empathetic, including a focus on "confidential,” approaching others with sensitivity and prayer, and being mindful of tone and word choice.
Lastly, we were all challenged to “love” correction. When people offer feedback, it gives us an opportunity to correct wrong behavior or ways of thinking that prevent us from being successful. When we reject correction or accountability, we’re on the road to disaster or unfilled dreams and aspirations, as we saw with King Saul, Judas, and Pharaoh.
